Reflecting Inner Beauty

Our faces are the windows to our spirit, emitting the luminosity within.

Our Face

Just like the rest of our bodies, our facial skin is continually renewing itself, shedding old cells and generating new ones in a natural process of growth and repair.

The skin cell turnover rate is a beautiful and intentional cycle, carefully orchestrated by our bodies to keep our skin healthy, radiant, and full of life. It is a reflection of the love and care that our bodies have for us, nourishing and supporting us in every moment.

In the basal cell stage, new skin cells are generated and begin to migrate upwards through the layers of the skin. This is a time of growth and vitality, a reflection of the love and intention with which our bodies approach our skin health. This stage typically lasts around 10-14 days.

In the spinous cell stage, the cells begin to flatten out and produce keratin, a protein that provides strength and structure to the skin. This is a time of building and strengthening, a reflection of the intention and care with which our bodies approach our skin renewal process. This stage typically lasts around 14-21 days.

In the granular cell stage, the cells fill up with keratin and other proteins, preparing to form the outermost layer of the skin. This is a time of preparation and transformation, a reflection of the love and intention that our bodies put into every aspect of our skin health. This stage typically lasts around 7-14 days.

In the cornified cell stage (Yes. Laugh. We have already told all the jokes.), the cells form a protective barrier on the surface of the skin and eventually slough off as dead skin cells. This is a time of shedding and renewal, a reflection of the incredible power of growth and transformation that lies within us. This stage typically lasts around 14-28 days.

And then, as the cycle starts all over again, we are reminded of the beauty and vitality that our skin embodies, and of the incredible love and intention that our bodies put into maintaining its health and vitality. May we always cherish and celebrate this incredible gift, and honor the love and intention that our bodies put into caring for us every day.
